CP provides tools for effective EMS:

Team work, input/output analysis, material flow analysis, energy analysis and option generation help in the assessment of the environmental effects of companies and at the same time show solutions, often involving relatively low cost changes which help in saving money

CP provides an orientation for the development of an (environmental) strategy:

CP instills a spirit of prevention to help in the formulation of a powerful environmental policy leading to effective and motivating systems which really improve environmental performance of companies and provides for a basis of motivation and training.
The task of the workgroup will be:

to collect examples that CP integrated EMS show better economic effects than EMS focussing on end of pipe technologies
to demonstrate the connections of effective EMS to health and safety topics and to quality
to work in the direction of best practices and standardisation of the initial review using CP-tools
to provide a open forum for the exchange of experiences regarding CP and EMS
to review and discuss these experiences
to help build a "trade-mark" for CP integrated EMS
to define a common marketing line
to define future common projects
